Daniel Radcliffe, the actor, is the first to declare that he is tired of the Oscars drama starring Will Smith and Chris Rock. Daniel, who will soon be seen in The Lost City alongside Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum, made the statement while appearing on Good Morning America to promote his film.

Daniel was asked to comment on the Oscars slapgate, in which Will Smith hit comedian Chris Rock for making a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith. Daniel stated that he did not want to contribute to the already big pile of opinions. “I’m just so already dramatically bored of hearing people’s opinions about it that I just don’t want to be another opinion adding to it,” he explained.

Daniel remembered what it was like to be the brunt of jokes at an awards ceremony and how to deal with it at the time. “When you’re a youngster, you’re never quite sure if the joke’s on you or you’re the butt of the joke “So you sort of go through a phase where you’re like, ‘I’ll just keep smiling and laughing and maybe it’ll cease soon,'” he explained.

Will Smith was named Best Actor at the event after the slap for his work in King Richard. He apologised to the Academy and his fellow candidates in his acceptance speech, but not to Chris. That arrived the next day through Instagram. Will said that he was ashamed of his behaviour the night before. Will has been the subject of an inquiry by the Academy, which has requested a few weeks to decide on disciplinary action against him.
