The cast opened up about how they felt pressured to offer something bigger and better after season 1‘s success. As far as Netflix‘s Outer Banks season 2 is concerned, the drama, mystery, and intrigue are just as high, if not more than in season 1.  The teen drama mystery’s second season was released on Netflix just yesterday, July 30.

Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, and Rudy Panko discussed various facets of the upcoming season in an interview with THR. Outer Banks season 2 is more dramatic, according to the performers, because the authors “always top themselves with the action.” While John B. and Sarah are thought to be dead, they are on their way to the Bahamas while the other Pogues are still in Outer Banks.

Panko remarked of the challenges of delivering a new season to fans with great expectations:

“There is a lot of pressure, but I believe we are a bunch of individuals that thrive under it and rise above it, and we are so eager to deliver season two. It’s even more mind-boggling now.”

The following was added by Madelyn Cline to the statement:”I believe we placed a lot of pressure on ourselves,” she says. “The first season was simply fun, and we hoped that it would be well accepted, but at the same time, nobody understood what we were doing, so it was very enjoyable. There were more people watching this year. As a result, I believe I placed myself under a lot of stress. It’s still enjoyable, though.”

They also discussed what it was like to work together again for season 2. Madison Bailey made the following remarks,”It felt surreal to see everyone again. As in season one, there was an instant bond. You have no idea what I’m talking about. You’ll be able to see her delight on the television screen. You’ll see that joy onscreen.”

Outer Banks season 2 is now streaming on Netflix.
