As the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar turns 92 this year, leaders and politicians have been extending their best wishes to the melody queen. The singer has been receiving wishes for good health, prosperity and so much more. Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended birthday greetings to her on Tuesday.

Narendra Modi said, “Birthday greetings to respected Lata Didi. Her melodious voice reverberates across the world. She is respected for her humility & passion towards Indian culture. Personally, her blessings are a source of great strength. I pray for Lata Didi’s long & healthy life.”

Adding on to it, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath took to twitter to wish her and wrote, “Vocal Nightingale, Musical Queen, Famous Playback Singer ‘Bharat Ratna’@mangeshkarlata Many many happy birthday wishes and best wishes. May the divine grace on your voice remain like this. I pray to Lord Shri Ram for your good health, happy and long life.”

Indian politician Sharad Pawar acknowledged Lata Mangeshkar’s contribution of Indian music to the world and tweeted in Hindi, “Happy Birthday to the Empress Lata, who spread Indian music all over the world and enriched her music with her classical voices. May the magic of your voice remain in the minds of the fans forever, may you have a healthy longevity!”

BJP leader Prakash Javadekar wrote, “Bharat Ratna #स्वरकोकिला Today is the birthday of Lata Mangeshkar. He made us Kan-sen. Happy Birthday Lata didi. I wish you a healthy and long life,” while Congress leader Aslam Shaikh tweeted, “Happy birthday to the legendary Queen of Melody, Bharat Ratna #LataMangeshkar Ji.I pray for her long and healthy life.” Adding to the wishes, leader Ravi Kishan wished her a happy and healthy life, writing, “Mother Saraswati’s constant seeker Swara Nightingale Bharat Ratna…Wishing a very Happy Birthday to Lata Mangeshkar ji. Praying to Lord Mahadev that you live long and always be healthy and happy.”

The iconic singer has plans for a family get together on her birthday. Lata Mangeshkar expressed to TOI her wish for the country to sail through the pandemic successfully, “It’s God’s grace and my parents’ blessings that I have turned 92. I pray the Almighty blesses our country as well during these horrific COVID-19 times.”
