The 33-year-old Julia Fox, who has appeared on the covers of numerous international Vogue issues, has quickly established herself as a fashion legend.

The model, however, has never received an invitation to the Met Gala, the largest event in fashion, and she insists she doesn’t want it. Instead, she stated unequivocally that, even if she had been invited, she has no desire to ever attend the event since it’s all about “politics, privilege, and who your parents are.”

Fox wildly criticized the Met Gala, calling the glittering, star-studded event stale and exclusive, and ranting about its hostess Anna Wintour for using it as an overt display of money.

The Uncut Gems star also berated this year’s theme, Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, while she was at it, asking Anna, 73, to move behind now and make room for ‘fresh, new energy’.

Fashion icon Julia told MailOnline: ‘To be honest with you, the Met Gala has never spoken to me – I mean look at who is running it.’ She continued,: ‘If it was about fashion I’d be there but it’s not. It’s about politics, privilege, who your parents are, and how much money you make.’

Julia remarked about Anna, saying, “She just won’t quit – how long is she going to keep going? There is a disconnect. American Vogue is not my favorite: it needs to be more fun and fresh and new energy.’ he told Daily Mail, “If it was about fashion I’d be there but it’s not. It’s about politics, privilege, who your parents are, and how much money you make.”

Julia also pointed out that there were “no trans people of color, or even trans people” at this year’s ball, saying it has a “gatekeeper vibe”, claiming: “The Met is not exclusive, it is exclusionary.”

Instead, Julia wants to see designers and artists, whose creations she believes deserve to be honoured at such a prominent event, take the place of well-known celebrities and “nepo babies” like Lila Moss, who attended this year’s event with her supermodel mother Kate.  ‘I don’t want to sound like I’m butt hurt [because] I love the Met [Museum] but I want to do more for more designers and people that don’t have the same privilege so they can be seen and heard.’

Julia was also caught saying, “Me and my friends are hoping to start our own gala and help fund disadvantaged people and single mothers. I just want to tell people don’t aspire to be like these people [who went to the Met] aspire to be yourself.”
