Indian film director, producer and editor Sam Bombay has been arrested by the Mumbai police after his wife Actor Poonam Pandey accused him of indulging in an instance of domestic violence. Reports suggest that the actress has been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai after suffering injuries to her face, eyes and hands.

An official from the Mumbai Police told ANI, “The case has been registered against Sam Bombay under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The actress has suffered serious injuries on her head, eyes and face.”
This is not the first such accusation that has been levelled against Sam Bombay. The director was charged with the same act a few days after the couple tied the knot in September 2020 after being in a long-term relationship.
The wedding was a small ceremony because of the restrictions imposed by the government due to the spread of the coronavirus. News of domestic violence complaints came in when the two were on their honeymoon in Goa.

Inspector Tukaram Chavan of the Canacona police station has revealed that Pandey filed a complaint alleging that Sam had threatened, molested and assaulted her in Canacona Village in South Goa.
However, Sam was granted bail and the two reunited soon after. Upon that Poonam said, “which marriage does not have its ups and downs.”

Poonam told Spotboye in an interview she gave last
year, “Because he is just crying in front of me and I really don’t know what to
do? Every time he just beat me up and later starts crying saying sorry. This
time also he did the same and promised it will not happen again and I will
treat you good. But this is something he keeps doing always. Because of him I
got a brain haemorrhage,”
The couple had been in a live-in relationship for a period of approximately two years before getting married at their lavish home in Bandra.
Poonam told Spotboye in an interview last year, “Because he is just crying in front of me and I really don’t know what to do? Every time he just beats me up and later starts crying saying sorry. This time also he did the same and promised it will not happen again and I will treat you good. But this is something he keeps doing always. Because of him I got a brain haemorrhage.”
