Prince Harry was seen downing shots of tequila while being interviewed by Stephen Colbert on The Late Show, for the promotion of his newly released memoir Spare.
The interview has not gone on air but photos of the Duke of Sussex drinking hard liquor on the show, obtained by some media outlets, went viral on social media. The 38-year-old former member of the royal family was seen getting served shots with salt and lime Monday while taping his interview for The Late Show in the Ed Sullivan Theater in Manhattan.
Meanwhile, Colbert, 58, was seen grinning as he mocked Harry and his family. Studio sources told Daily Mail that the duke drank the shots after taking part in a silly quiz where he answered questions such as his favorite sandwich and phone app.
Colbert teased about Harry’s appearance in the show by mocking his upcoming guest, saying that the latter’s memoir Spare was “also available on audiobook and a commemorative plate.”

“I’ve read the book — it’s very enjoyable, quite emotional, quite revealing. I’m going to have so much to talk about with his Harryness,” he quipped. He also made fun of Harry’s take on his brother Prince William wanting him to ignore him at school. It was “straight out of the older brother/sibling playbook,” Colbert said.
“Well that’s heartbreaking,” Colbert said with mock angst. “I mean, to be rejected by his older brother at school even though that magic hat sorted them into the same house,” Colbert joked, as he pretended the brothers were part of Harry Potter.

“What do you think? Hufflepuff? Hufflepuff? Gryffindor, I’m not sure,” Colbert said, naming the houses from the popular fictional books by J.K. Rowling.
