Actor Sherlyn Chopra on Wednesday recorded a statement in connection with a pornography case involving business and actor Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra. In the statement, the actor accused Kundra of sexual assault and also claimed that he told her that his relationship with his wife was “complicated” and that he was “stressed most of the time.”

Sherlyn Chopra, in her complaint, said that Kundra had called her manager in early 2019 with the idea of “The Sherlyn Chopra App”. and told him that she could upload her content on the app and monetise it. 

Chopra alleged she and Kundra had an argument over a text following which the businessman showed up “unannounced” at her residence and allegedly began “kissing” her even though she “resisted”. She went on to allege that she asked Kundra to stop as she was “scared” and eventually pushed him and rushed into the washroom.

The 45-year-old businessman was arrested earlier this month for his alleged involvement in the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some apps.

The accused persons “made profits in lakhs in this illegal business of making pornographic films and uploading the same via some mobile apps for which subscription fees is taken from viewers,” Mumbai Police said. 

The pornographic content was allegedly uploaded on an app ‘HotShots’ that was developed by Arms Prime Pvt Ltd, a company is owned by the businessman.

Kundra has been booked under Indian Penal Code Sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 292 and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays), and relevant sections of the IT Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.

Chopra was summoned by the Mumbai Crime Branch’s Property Cell on Wednesday to record her statement in connection with the case. She claimed that in March 2021, she shared information with the Cyber Cell of the Mumbai Police about Kundra’s company Armsprime that led to his arrest.   

Mumbai Crime branch has not given clean chit to Shilpa Shetty yet and is investigating all possibilities/angles.
