Popular South Indian actor Puneeth Rajkumar died on October 29 after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was taken to the Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru but the star’s condition  deteriorated sharply and he could not be saved. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

The 46-year-old enjoyed a long career in the film industry as he started off as a child artist and eventually blossomed into the legendary actor we saw in the last decade.

Appu

The film directed by Puri Jagannadh featured Puneeth Rajkumar and Rakshita in lead roles. It was Puneeth’s first lead role and the actor was an instant hit.

Appu is a man from a lower middle class background who gets beaten up in a fight with a rival gang in college. He is badly injured and requires a blood donor to save his life. The protagonist falls in love with the girl who donates blood to save his life.

Namma Basava

The film directed by Veera Shankar Bairisetty was released in 2005 and featured Puneeth and Gowri Munjal in lead roles. While the film was received well by fans, critics gave it mixed reviews. The movie’s soundtrack was a big hit and is popular even today.

Basava is a generous boy who falls in love with a musician, Gowri, however, a rich brat is also in contention to woo the girl.

Milana

The romantic drama starring Puneeth, Parvathy and Pooja Gandhi in lead roles was directed by Prakash. Puneeth won the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in the film.

The protagonist falls in love with a girl who is forced into marrying a police officer by her family and the hero is also forced to marry a girl of his parents’ choice. It remains to be seen whether the lovers will be reunited or not.

Raajakumara

The action drama written and directed by Santhosh Ananddram revolves around the life of Siddharth who loses his family and learns about the issues they faced. He chooses to take care of the people at an old age home but things don’t go as planned.

Prithvi

The action drama directed by Jacob Varghese revolves around the life of ‘Prithvi’ who is an IAS officer working to put an end to criminals contaminating the village’s water supply.
