Resident Evil, the action-horror series, will not be renewed by Netflix after its first season. Despite opening to wide fanfare, the show quickly lost its spot on the Netflix top 10, and has not shown any sign of recovery since then. Notably, it was released in the wake of the final season of Stranger Things, a massive hit that traverses a similar genre.
In the first week of its release, the show was viewed for 72.7 million hours and in the second week for 73.3 million hours. However, since then, it started performing poorly and was out of the Top 10 list by week four. Critical acclaim for the show has also not been impressive. It has received a meagre 3.9 rating on IMDb till date and a 55% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
