Rihanna will be collaborating with Johnny Depp for the fourth Savage X Fenty fashion show. The 40-minute event will feature Depp. The announcement has sparked online criticism with many calling for Rihanna’s brand to ditch Johnny Depp.

Rihanna’s show will stream on Amazon Prime Video on November 9 and the producers of the fashion show have termed it a “seductive fashion fever dream.”

The concert will feature various celebrities including dancers, models, singers, and actors, and the theme and the backdrop of the fashion show has a forest-like setting. 

Rihanna was criticized on Twitter for her decision to collaborate with Johnny Depp in the fashion show.  The official Savage X Fenty account on Twitter received a lot of tweets on Thursday as people expressed their disappointment with Depp’s involvement in the show. 

Some of the comments on the official Twitter page read, “We will boycott the show if Johnny Depp is in it”, “Delete the Johnny Depp scene now if it ever existed,” “Out of all the unproblematic white men in Hollywood Rihanna and her team go for Johnny Depp?”

Johnny Depp has already shot his cameo appearance and the actor will appear midway through the programme at the “star” moment, which has previously featured Erykah Badu and Cindy Crawford.

Depp will make his first-ever appearance in the campaign, and he will be seen wearing a dark olive outfit from the men’s clothing line. He will be seen walking the ramp and the song So Fresh, So Clean by Outkast playing in the background.

Depp won the 2022 defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife, Amber Heard, in June 2022. On the work front, Johnny Depp has recently featured in a music album 18 along with Grammy Award winner Jeff Beck. Currently, he is also working on a number of films.
