Kanye West’s split with model Chaney Jones seems to have pushed the 45-year-old rapper to take some time away from music, and his close friends.

Rapper Vory, who collaborated with West on the album ‘Donda’, told Complex that the pop icon is “battling his own s—.”

“I was just talking to [Kanye] today. We’ve been talking through my best friend who’s also his assistant, because he hasn’t been wanting to talk to anybody,” Vory said.

“He’s taking a year off, and he was like, ‘Damn, you think Vory is going to be mad at me if I don’t go to his release party?’ And I was like, ‘Nah, you’re straight, bro,” he continued.

“He’s battling his own s—. That’s my dog, I learned a lot from him,” Vory added.

Vory’s remarks come hours after news began circulating that West had broken up with Chaney Jones, a social media influencer who rose to prominence for bearing resemblance to West’s former wife, Kim Kardashian.

While the news of West and Jones dating each other broke out earlier this year, the duo made their relationship official only after exchanging romantic comments on social media. Later on, the Instagram model shared a glimpse of what appeared to be a tattoo of West’s sobriquet- ‘Ye’.

They briefly dated for a period of five months and recently parted ways after returning from a trip to Japan

Following the split, Jones appears to have followed the post-breakup protocol, by removing all traces of West from her social media handles.

The duo shares a significant age gap, with West being a 45-year-old father to four kids, and Jones reportedly being somewhere in her mid-20s. The age difference is quite similar to what Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson share, the couple who is still going strong despite West’s not-so-subtle digs.
