The Saturday Night Live (SNL) unveiled new cast member – James Austin Johnson – as the new Donald Trump in this week’s episode. Johnson joined the NBC variety show this year and is known for his Trump impression. He parodied the former president doing an interview with cast member Cecily Strong as Fox News host Jeanine Pirro on “Justice with Judge Jeanine.”

Johnson’s Trump started with Strong’s Pirro commenting on the gubernatorial election in Virginia. He went on to take credit for Youngkin’s, played by cast member Alex Moffat, win in the race. Interestingly, the Republican candidate had kept his distance from the former president throughout the election campaign. The two men never campaigned in person together. Youngkin won the race by roughly 68,000 votes over former Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe.

“I just wanted to congratulate Glenn Youngkin, and mostly myself, on a tremendous victory in Virginia. You know what, Glenn, we did it together,” Johnson’s Trump said on the show.

“Oh, you don’t have to say that,” Moffat’s Youngkin said while alongside Trump in a split screen.

He added, “It’s great to be here, Judge Judy, and it’s great to be, frankly, winning again. Oh, we love to win, and you know what, you’re gonna see a lot more winning where that came from. Let me tell you. You’re gonna see it a lot.”

The SNL episode opened with Green Bay Packers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers, played by Pete Davidson, in a parody interview on Fox News about not getting vaccinated against COVID-19.

“Our first guest is an American brave enough to stand and up say, ‘Screw you, science, I know Joe Rogan!'” Cecily Strong’s Jeanine Pirro said introducing Rodgers.

Strong’s Pirro said, “You’re not vaccinated. So what? Who the hell cares? It’s your body, your choice. And please never use that quote for any other issues.”

“Exactly, Jeanine, it’s my body and my COVID. I could give it to whoever I want, but suddenly the woke mob is coming after me,” Davidson’s Rodgers said.
