Shah Rukh Khan has always prioritised his family, and despite constant work commitments, he has been a super-dad to his children, spending enough time with them, apart from being a star for millions of his fans

According to Firstpost, the actor would celebrate his birthday in a low-key manner following the release of his son Aryan Khan from Arthur Road Jail in connection with a drug case.

As India celebrates Shah Rukh Khan’s 56th birthday today, let us take a look at what he has said about his children Aryan Khan and Suhana Khan.

Khan claimed in a 2013 article in Outlook magazine that he had given his children first names (Aryan and Suhana) that could pass for pan-Indian and pan-religion. While his children would not be able to avoid the Khan surname, their first names could help them avert “unwarranted eviction orders and random fatwas in the future.”

SRK also recognised the negative impact of his fame on his children, claiming that his greatest concern was that his popularity could ruin his children’s lives. He went on to say that he would prefer his children grew out of the shadow of his celebrity status.  The Raees actor said that he would like to be acknowledged as their father if his children became renowned in their own right.

Khan also stated his kids were his friends while interacting with followers on Twitter earlier this year. He went on to say that instead of harsh reprimands and scolding, children were meant for “hugging and loving….and for making mistakes”.

In an old interview, Khan said that deciding to have a kid is like letting “a piece of your heart walk outside” the body. He also stated that if a speeding car was speeding towards his children, he would step in front of it.
