Shakira and her ex-boyfriend Gerard Pique are said to have reached a temporary custody agreement for their children.

According to Spanish media site Marca, the Whenever, Wherever hitmaker has left her children with their father in accordance with the arrangement.

According to the agreement, the former couple’s sons will spend two weeks of August in Barcelona with the footballer and the rest of the month with their mother.

The singer has subsequently returned to her family home, leaving her children with the sports star, who will apparently enjoy the Joan Gamper game and the Rayo Vallecano match.

Meanwhile, Shakira and Pique’s legal teams will work to find a solution to their feud over permanent custody of their children.

The former partners announced their surprising split in June 2022, and since then, the two have employed lawyers to work out a custody arrangement.

Shakira wishes to settle in Miami with her children in peace and away from public scrutiny, whilst Pique wishes to keep their sons in Spain with him.

Despite being together for 12 years, the couple did not get married and faced a lot of questions and speculations from fans and the media alike regarding it.

“I like how we are now, how we function as a couple, and we don’t feel the need to be married,” Piqué stated in a recent interview with ex-footballer and former Manchester United teammate Gary Neville.

Shakira, on the other hand, discussed it in an interview for the Planet Weird podcast years ago. She admitted that she is afraid of the prospect of marriage.

“The idea of marriage scares me. I don’t want him to stop seeing me as his girl. It’s like that forbidden fruit, I prefer to keep him attentive and let him think that everything is possible depending on his behavior,” she stated during the interview. 

The 45-year-old musician met the Barcelona defence while promoting the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Waka Waka (This Time for Africa). Sasha and Milan are the couple’s two children.
