Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty is all set to make her first public appearance after Raj Kundra’s arrest in a porn racket case. She will be joining international and Bollywood stars, including Ed Sheeran, Karan Johar, Parineeti Chopra, Saif Ali Khan, Sara Ali Khan, and Steven Spielberg, for a COVID19 relief fundraiser.

The event is titled We For India: Saving Lives, Protecting Livelihoods. It will be held virtually on August 15. The proceeds from the event will be used to support staff from vaccination centres and to provide facilities such as oxygen concentrators, cylinders, ventilators, essential medicines, and ICU units. These will also be utilised to aid long-term recovery.

The event is expected to be 3-hour long and will be streamed on facebook and hosted by Rajkumar Rao on Sunday evening.

This comes after Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra was arrested last month for alleged production of pornographic content. Shilpa Shetty took to Instagram to release a statement asking people to respect their privacy. The actor has taken a brief break from reality show Super Dancer 4 where she is one of the judges.

All I will say is, as it’s an on-going investigation, I have full faith in the Mumbai Police & the Indian judiciary,” she said in the statement.

“As a family, we are taking recourse to all our available legal remedies. But, till then I humbly request you – especially as a MOTHER – to respect our privacy for my children’s sake and request you to refrain from commenting on half-baked information without verifying the veracity of the same,” she had concluded.
