Popular TV and film actor Sidharth Shukla‘s sudden death has sent shock waves across the entertainment industry, with several of the ‘Bigg Boss 13’ winner’s friends and colleagues taking to social media to pay their tributes. 

Bollywood actors Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan, who worked with Sidharth in his debut movie ‘Humpy Sharma Ki Dulhania’, also offered condolences.

Taking to Instagram stories, Alia wrote, “Sid, one of the warmest, kindest and most genuine people I’ve worked with ….always smiling and always positive! My heartfelt condolences to his family, loved ones and his fans who loved him so deeply! Rest in peace!”

Sharing a photo from the promotions of ‘Humpy Sharma Ki Dulhania’, Varun wrote on social media, “Rip brother u are loved by so many and u touched so many with ur kind heart and beautiful personality. Today heaven has gained a star and we have lost one. My deepest condolences to the family and loved ones.”

Sidharth died on Thursday at the age of 40. Initial media reports suggested that the 40-year-old actor had died of a heart attack. However, police sources and hospital authorities confirmed that the cause of death remains to be discovered.

Cooper Hospital in Mumbai, where the 40-year-old actor was brought, issued a statement saying, “He was brought dead to the hospital. The cause of the death will be known after the post-mortem is conducted…it will take some time.”

The actor rose to fame for his role in the popular television show ‘Balika Vadhu.’ He went on to participate in several reality television shows such as ‘Bigg Boss 13’, which he won, ‘Khatron ke Khiladi’ and ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa.’ He was last seen in ‘Broken But Beautiful’ — a web series. 

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who hosts reality TV show ‘Bigg Boss’, expressed condolences on his death.

“Gone too soon Siddharth.. u shall be missed. Condolences to the family .. RIP,” Salman Khan tweeted.
