Pop singer Perrie Edwards has welcomed her first baby with long-time partner and Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The ‘Little Mix’ singer took to social media on Sunday morning to share black-and-white photos of her newborn.

“Welcome to the world baby 21/08/21 ♥️,” she captioned the photos. 

The 27-year-old singer announced her pregnancy in May by posting maternity photos on social media that showcased her baby bump. The photos also featured her 27-year-old boyfriend. 

“So happy to be on this wild journey with my soulmate,” she captioned the post. “Me + Him = You♥️ We can’t wait to meet you baby Ox!” she captioned the photos.

Oxlade-Chamberlain also shared the news on his Instagram, writing, “Anyone got any advice on how to change nappies? so grateful and excited to become a dad bring on the sleepless nights.”

Meanwhile, the announcement of the child’s birth hours after Oxlade-Chamberlain pulled out of  Reds fixture against the Clarets due to “personal reasons.” He was also absent from Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Burnley in the Premier League.

The pop star confirmed her relationship with the footballer in 2016 by posting a photo them sitting at the kitchen table beside their pet dogs. She, however, deleted the photo, giving rise to speculations that they have split. Months later, Edwards silenced the rumours by posting a photo of them kissing with a stunning view of the Eiffel Tower behind them. They made their first public appearance together the same month at the BRITs. The couple started living together the following year. 

Meanwhile, Edwards’ announcement of the childbirth comes a week after fellow Little Mix member Leigh-Anne Pinnock shared her own pregnancy news saying that she’s expecting her first child with Andre Gray.  The 29-year-old posted images from her maternity photoshoot on social media.
