Cecily Strong returned to Saturday Night Live with a hilarious spoof on Kanye ‘Ye’ West making an appearance at the headquarters of Skechers.

The visit took place just days after West was dropped by German-based Adidas, who produces his popular Yeezy line, following the highly offensive anti-semitic comments. The rapper set his businesses and career on fire with a series of indefensible anti-Semitic comments that also led to his suspension from Twitter.

The sketch show put together a provocative ad parody showing Cecily doubling down on Skechers’ positioning about showing Kanye the door.

“At Skechers we pride ourselves make shoes at an affordable price — and standing up to anti-semitism. That’s why earlier this week when Kanye West showed up at our corporate asking to work with us — we said no,” she said to the camera in the sketch.

“Like the rest of the country, we were appalled by Kanye’s horrific comments and we vow to never work with him in any capacity,” Cecily said. “But, can we also point out that of all the companies he could have approached and been rejected by, he chose Skechers,” she added.

Chloe Fineman then retorted, “Kanye came to Skechers and Skechers said no. Do you realize how satisfying that is?”

“Two years ago could you imagine that headline — Skechers is too good for Kanye,” Bowen Yang, who played an employee, then laughed and said. “Of course, he’s always been a disrupter in the fashion industry. Again, we would never partner with him. What would you even call a Kanye Skechers shoe anyway? The Skeezy?” he said, pointing out another shoe company that has yet to comment on the controversy. “I haven’t heard anything from Crocs. No saying they’re anti-semitic but we haven’t heard from them.”

Cecily Strong took on the role of Skechers CEO in a hilarious Saturday Night Life spoof on Kanye “Ye” West making . The drop-in visit took place just days after Ye was dropped by German-based Adidas, who produces his popular Yeezy line, following his highly offensive anti-semitic comments that got him suspended from Twitter and restricted on Instagram. In the SNL take of events, Cecily doubled down on Skechers’ positioning about showing Kanye the door.

Jack Harlow may have been hosting Saturday Night Live this week, but the sketch-comedy show’s best offering conveniently omitted him. Given all the Kanye West news this week, including a string of antisemitic outbursts, the subsequent loss of his business deals, and comparing himself to George Floyd, SNL chose to highlight the most absurd West happening: getting kicked out of Skechers. Yes, after losing his deal with Adidas West apparently showed up uninvited to the California headquarters of Skechers, demanded a meeting, and was quickly shown the door. So, SNL aired a mock PSA for Skechers where they took a bit of a victory lap.

“Here at Skechers, we pride ourselves on two things: making stylish, comfortable shoes at an affordable price, and having zero tolerance for antisemitism,” said Cecily Strong’s Skechers exec, in a red power suit, later adding, “Like the rest of the country, we were appalled by Kanye’s horrific comments and we vowed to never work with him in any capacity. But…can we also point out that of all the companies he could have approached and been rejected by, he chose Skechers.” She proceeded to describe Skechers as a “hip, edgy company” in voiceover, as images of three elderly people wearing Skechers was shown. SNL Cold Open Skewers Dr. Oz, Herschel Walker, and Kari Lake “Kanye came to Skechers, and Skechers said no,” boasted Chloe Fineman’s Skechers VP. “Do you realize how insanely satisfying that is?” The funniest line of the bit came (naturally) from Bowen Yang’s Skechers director, who said, “Now I noticed we haven’t heard anything from Crocs. I’m not saying Crocs is antisemitic, I just think it’s interesting we haven’t heard from them…”

“He walked in and we were like bye — buh-bye — door. It’s not all about us but it’s not like Allbirds is not fighting the fight,” Cecily declared.

On the new episode of the comedy series, host and musical guest Jack Harlow took on dual duties.
