Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, a famed dancer and choreographer who appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres show as a DJ, died of suicide. The DJ passed away on Tuesday, a report from Los Angeles medical examiner confirmed.

Boss’s wife Allison Holker reported to LAPD station on Tuesday that Boss had left the house without his car, which was very unlikely of him.

The police received a call from an LA hotel, and Boss was discovered dead by self-inflicted gunshot wounds.

Career:

Boss stepped into Show Business in the early 2000s.He landed in MTV’s The Wade Robson Project, where he finished as a semifinalist. He went on to participate in talent competition Star Search and ended as a runner up. 

Boss was regularly featured on So You Think You Can Dance? He auditioned for the show for the first time in 2007, for season 3, but did not secure a spot in the Top 20 finalists. He auditioned for season 4, finishing up as a runner up. 

Boss appeared through season 7, 8 and 9 as a recurring star, performing several routines on the show. He was invited as the team captain for season 12, and later appointed as the permanent judge in season 17.

Boss also co-hosted Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings, with his wife, former So You Think You Can Dance? Alum, Allison Holker. 

He landed his breakthrough gig as a DJ on famed talk show The Ellen Degeneres show on April 1, 2014, and was featured in the show regularly afterwards. DeGeneres, the host of the show, declared Boss the executive producer of her talk show on August 17, 2020. 

Wife:

Boss was married to Allison Holker, also a former participant at So You Think You Can Dance. The two wed Nigel Lythgoe’s Villa San Juliette Vineyard and Winery in Paso Robles, California

Children: 

Boss adopted Holker’s daughter Weslie Renae Boss. The couple had two children through their marriage- son Maddox Laurel Boss and daughter Zaia Boss.
