Stranger Things” on Netflix is one of the most popular series with four seasons. It is a series that has been extremely liked by audiences. The story has a perfect blend of horror, and mystery and is intriguing for all the viewers.

This series has broken the Nielson streaming record for the most-viewed program in a single week. It has surpassed 7 billion minutes of viewing time in the United States for the week of May 30th to June 5th. It was the highest weekly total for any series. Not only has it made a weekly highest but it has also the biggest two weekly tally for any show.

Before “Stranger Things” “Tiger King” and “Ozark” were the only two shows which had crossed the 5 billion minutes viewed.  Both these shows achieved the record in the year 2020 during the pandemic-induced lockdown.

Netflix reported that “Stranger Things” Season 4 Volume 1 was viewed for 286.8 million hours but as Nielsen combines viewership of all available seasons and thus there remains a discrepancy in the figures. The Nielsen streaming ratings cover only the viewership from TV.

It does not include minutes watched on computers, mobiles or any kind of other devices. The ratings are only measured on US audiences not from any other countries. The window of May 30th to June 5th also had some more premieres across various OTT platforms.

The Boys Season 3 also premiered on June 3rd bringing it to the top 4 in the chart with 949 million minutes viewed. HBO Max also had its first ever Nielsen entry on 30th May with the streaming debut of “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore” which took sixth place on the overall chart with 758 million minutes.

Stranger Things has become the most-watched English Language Series on Netflix. According to the internal metrics of Netflix, the company says that its subscribers have watched season 4  for more than 930 million hours worldwide over 28 days.
