Viewers can’t seem to be getting enough of the fourth season of ‘Stranger Things’, a Netflix show that recently surpassed the billion-hour viewing mark.
According to the subscription company, ‘Stranger Things’ is the first English language show and the second in any language to garner over a billion hours of watch time worldwide.
The show has 1.15 billion hours of viewing time since 28 days of the release of the first volume of the latest season. The first seven episodes racked up 930.32 million hours of watch time in 28 days, including episodes eight and nine, that collectively garnered 221 million hours of global viewing between June 27 and July 3.
The show’s sole competitor is ‘Squid Game’, which has a viewing time record of 1.65 billion hours.
With more than three weeks left to amass more viewing hours for the last two episodes, which dropped on July 1, ‘Stranger Things’ seems to be headed straight towards dethroning the Korean survival drama.
In spite of only being available for streaming for three days, the last two episodes of ‘Stranger Things‘ accounted for nearly 73% of the fourth season’s viewing time last week.
