Super Bowl, the grand event of American football is fast approaching and is creating a buzz with its newly announced star-studded lineup for the halftime ceremony. Starts like Eminem and Dr Dre will be taking the centre stage at the Super Bowl halftime show on February 13, 2022.
Here are some of the top halftime performances at previous Super Bowl events in the United States:
1) Coldplay
British rock group Coldplay was in the limelight for the 2016 Super Bowl halftime performance, which attracted nearly 115 million viewers. Band lead Chris Martin kicked off the performance solo while singing the chorus to the popular song ‘Yellow’ and later joined his group on stage to perform songs like ‘Adventure of a Lifetime’, ‘Viva La Vida’ and ‘Paradise’.
2) Maroon 5
The pop group Maroon 5 headlined the 53rd Super Bowl in 2019 and was accompanied by rappers Big Boi and Travis Scott as guests. The band picked and performed their most popular songs to perform during the halftime show. Hits like ‘Sugar’, ‘Girls Like You’, ‘Moves Like Jagger’, ‘Hard to Breathe’ and ‘This Love’ were performed.

3) Bruno Mars
Bruno Mars alongside his band The Hooligans, with special guests The Red Hot Chili Peppers performed at the halftime show of Super Bowl 2014. The show generated a mass audience. According to media reports, 115.3 million viewers tuned in for the show.
The upcoming performance, in addition to Eminem and Dr Dre, artists like Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and Mary J. Blige.
The NFL, Pepsi and Roc Nation announced Thursday that the five music icons will perform on February 13 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Lamar are Southern California natives.
Dr Dre said in a statement, “The opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, and to do it in my own backyard, will be one of the biggest thrills of my career”, according to reports from Associated Press.
