The Narcotics Control Bureau on Sunday said that late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s former house staff, Dipesh Sawant, is an active member of a active member of drug syndicate connected with high society personalities, reported news agency ANI. The bureau, which is investigating a possible drug angle in the actor’s death case, had arrested Sawant on Saturday.

“On the basis of statements of Dipesh Sawant, house help of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, and digital evidence collected by NCB, it’s clear that Dipesh is an active member of drug syndicate connected with high society personalities and drug suppliers,” ANI reported quoting the bureau, as saying.

Earlier on Sunday, a Mumbai court had sent Sawant on the NCB custody till September 9.

Over the last two days, the NCB has arrested actor Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik Chakraborty, Rajput’s house manager Samuel Miranda and Sawant. Showik and Miranda, who were arrested on Friday, have also been sent to the NCB custody till September 9. The bureau has also summoned Rhea, the main accused in the case, to join the investigation.

Rajput, 34, was found dead at his house in Mumbai’s Bandra on June 14. Three central agencies, the NCB, the Enforcement Directorate (ED), and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are probing various angles linked to his death.
