Tamer Hassan, who played Khal Forzo in the Game of Thrones, on Thursday revealed that members of his family are lost in Turkey after the earthquake that killed more than 17,100 in the Middle Eastern country and Syria. The 54-year-old added that he is heading to Turkey to pull other victims from rubble and help with the crisis.
Talking about his family, Hassan broke down. During a conversation with Sky News, he said, “I literally have no words for this. We’re all devastated as I explained before we have family that are lost, not found.” The actor is now leading a campaign to raise £100,000 to help with the humanitarian crisis.
In an Instagram post, he said, ” I’m going to put my hands under the rocks and try to pull the people out. I’m calling the whole world to help. Send what you can. They need everything. They need us badly. They have nothing.”
He has set up a GoFundMe page, adding: “I’ll let you know where your money is being spent. We’re spending our own money. We’re going out there to do everything they can.”
