Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn have been discreet about the status of their relationship since rumours of their engagement surfaced. Several reports of the couple’s engagement in February 2022 had come out earlier this year.

Neither party, however, verified or rejected the rumours. Swift, 32, and Alwyn, 31, who have been dating for more than five years, were spotted on a walkabout in London in July 2022.
According to the Daily Mail, on July 14, the ‘London Boy’ hitmaker was seen having an iced coffee with the ‘Conversations with Friends’ actor. An engagement ring, on the other hand, was absent.
This could imply that the couple is not engaged. According to one insider, Swift and Alwyn have chosen to marry, and the singer prefers to wear her engagement ring behind closed doors, the Bustle website states.
“They’ve actually been engaged for a few months but have only told their inner-inner circle,” according to a source quoted by The Sun. “Taylor has a beautiful ring but she only wears it when she’s at home.”
The couple “want their love to stay away from the cameras,” according to The Sun insider, adding that when they do ultimately walk down the aisle, the wedding would be “simple and elegant.”
Swift and Alwyn supposedly first met at the 2016 Met Gala. As previously stated, the couple has been tight-lipped about their relationship, with the ‘Love Story’ singer stating in 2019 that her love life with the actor “isn’t up for discussion.”
Alwyn, on the other hand, gushed over his long-term girlfriend Swift in early 2022, calling the singer’s honorary doctorate degree from New York University an “incredible honor” and “absolutely amazing.”
