The final episode of Ted Lasso Season 1 titled ‘The Hope that Kills you” explored the theme of ‘Hope.’ The episode was filled with anxiety about AFC Richmond’s match against Manchester City.  The season 1 finale was nothing less of an emotional rollercoaster.

In the final episode of season 1, Ted revealed to  Rebecca that he might resign from Richmond. And that it might be his last match with the team. Nathan, who was an equipment manager had been promoted to the position of assistant coach.

Jamie Tartt who had previously played for Richmond, changed his team to play for Manchester City in the season 1 finale. AFC Richmond’s team captain Roy gives up his position to Isaac. Ted Lasso’s team lost the football match against Manchester City.

Ted’s resignation letter was turned down by Rebecca as she had bigger plans for him with the Richmond organisation.

As per the official trailer for Season 2, AFC Richmond confronts their loss against Manchester City. Ted is shown throwing a rare temper tantrum as Led Tasso. Whereas Nathan is still getting used to his new position as an assistant coach. 

The trailer also hints at a Christmas themed episode. The new season is filled with inspirational speeches. Ted’s major hurdle this season might be to win over the new sports psychologist, Sharon.

Ted Lasso is a heartwarming sports comedy show, where Jason Sudeikis plays the titular role. Ted, a struggling American football coach is sent to coach the struggling AFC Richmond in England. The show revolves around Ted’s journey as a football coach in England.

AppleTV plus signed a contract with the makers of Ted Lasso to extend the show two more seasons. Jason Sudeikis in an interview with Entertainment Weekly hinted the show might not extend for more than three seasons. He said that Ted Lasso’s story could be told completely in three seasons.
