Daddy’s home! Well, kind of. Jeffrey Dean Morgan has joined the cast of The Boys Season 4 after Jensen Ackles came on board as Soldier Boy during Season 3. Fans of Supernatural, The CW show, will remember that Morgan played John Winchester, monster hunter and father to Ackles’ Dean Winchester.

Morgan, who has since appeared in The Walking Dead, will be a recurring guest star on The Boys but his role is being kept under wraps for now.

The 56-year-old actor had earlier expressed excitement about The Boys in 2020, saying that he’d join the show in a “heartbeat”.

In Supernatural, John Winchester teaches his two kids, Dean and Sam, all they need to know about hunting evil, killing monsters, vis a vis, the “family business”. With Ackles and Morgan already a part of the cast, there are questions about whether Jared Padalecki will also appear on The Boys.

Eric Kripke, who rose to prominence for creating Supernatural, and is now the showrunner for the Amazon Prime series told Variety in a June 8 interview, “He’s always welcome on the show”, adding, “Up to now, the guy is on a network show that has however many episodes — like, a lot more than eight. So he’s working all year and now he’s producing his spinoff and he’s got a whole empire going on over there. He’s been a busy man. And it’s been hard to even figure out any time that he’s free. But if he was free and found himself currently unemployed, I would put him on The Boys in a heartbeat.”
