The cast members of Season 6 of the popular Netflix series The Crown have been announced. Prince William and Kate Middleton will be played by newcomers.

According to Variety, Ed McVey, 21, and 16-year-old Rufus Kampa will play the young prince. Meg Bellamy will portray Kate Middleton in the interim. In November, The Crown’s fifth season is scheduled to debut. Elizabeth Debicki will play Princess Diana, Olivia Williams will play Camilla Parker Bowles, Jonathan Pryce will play Prince Philip, Lesley Manville will play Princess Margaret, Dominic West will play Prince Charles. John Major, a former British prime minister, will also attend.

Additionally, West’s son Senan West will play a young Prince William. Prince Harry will be portrayed by Will Powell and Teddy Hawley at various ages.

The show’s makers are being as coy as ever about the events in the lives of the British royal family they aim to explore during the programme, but the casting suggests that Season 5 will focus on the 1990s, including events leading up to and possibly following Diana’s death in 1997.

Mohamed Al-Fayed, Dodi Al-father, Fayed’s would be portrayed by Salim Daw , according to a Variety article from last year. The former perished in the Paris disaster together with Diana, while “The Kite Runner” actor Khalid Abdalla will play Dodi Al-Fayed.

Given Kate’s on-screen debut and the casting of 16-year-old Kampa as a younger version of William, Season 6—which is expected to start filming this fall—will centre on the late 1990s and early 2000s. Prince William was 15 years old in August 1997, the month of his mother’s passing.

Imelda Staunton will replace Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II in Season 5 of The Crown, which will debut on Netflix in November. Along with Lesley Manville playing Princess Margaret, Jonathan Pryce plays the Duke of Edinburgh, Dominic West plays the Prince of Wales, and Elizabeth Debicki plays Princess Diana.
