Karga is willing to turn a blind eye to illegal activities in order to maintain his own power, which undermines the authority of the New Republic.

Thirdly, the New Republic was unable to effectively deal with the criminal underworld. The galaxy is a vast and lawless place, and there are countless criminal organizations that operate outside the authority of the New Republic.

In The Mandalorian, we see the rise of a new criminal organization known as the “Magistrate,” who controls the planet of Calodan and is in possession of a powerful weapon that could destabilize the entire galaxy. The New Republic is aware of the threat posed by the Magistrate but is unable to take decisive action to stop them.

This is due in part to the aforementioned corruption and infighting within the organization, but it is also because the New Republic lacks the resources and manpower to deal with the criminal underworld.

Fourthly, the New Republic was unable to maintain control over the Outer Rim. The Outer Rim is the outermost region of the galaxy, and it is a lawless and dangerous place where the rule of law is virtually non-existent.

In The Mandalorian, it is revealed that the New Republic has outlawed the practice of the Jedi religion, which had been nearly extinct since the fall of the Jedi Order. However, the show also introduces a new character known as “The Child,” who is revealed to be a member of the same species as Jedi Master Yoda.

The Child is able to use the Force, which makes him a valuable target for various factions in the galaxy. The New Republic is unable to protect The Child from these factions, which further undermines its authority.
