The trailer for an upcoming horror drama The Watcher was released by Netflix on September 26, 2022. The series is based on true events in the life of a couple who purchased a home at 657 Boulevard in Westfield, New Jersey.

This new limited series is created by television writer Ryan Murphy who co-created American Horror Story (2010). For this horror series, Murphy collaborated with Ian Brennan – the maker of Scream Queens (2015). 

Release Date:

Along with the exclusive trailer, Netflix announced that the series will on October 13.

Cast:

The Watcher features actors Naomi Watts and Cannavale as a couple in lead roles. In the series, the Brannock family is seen being terrified that someone is keeping an eye on every move that they take. The cast includes Mia Farrow, Noma Dumezweni, Joe Mantello, Richard Kind, Terry Kinney, Margo Martindale, Jennifer Coolidge, Christopher McDonald, and Isabel Gravitt. 

Plot:

The story is said to be based on the real lives of Derek and Maria Broaddus who bought a six-bedroom house at 657 Boulevard in Westfield New Jersey in 2014. They were forced to abandon the house due to the threatening letters they were receiving.

In this series based on the Broaddus family’s real life, they are shown receiving threatening letters. Also, their neighbours directly scared them by saying that they have their eyes on them.

As a result, Brannocks doubt that their neighbours and other known people just want them to sell the house.

They become paranoid about all this going on and yet, they refuse to leave. However, things go upside down when they realise that an anonymous being has invaded their house.
