First look of Timothée Chalamet as Willy Wonka is finally out! The 25-year-old actor shared the first look from his upcoming movie ‘Wonka’ on his social media handles on Sunday. The movie, directed by Paddington alum Paul King and written by Simon Rich, is a prequel to Roald Dahl’s 1964 book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

“The suspense is terrible, I hope it will last … ?WONKA?,” he captioned the Instagram post. In the picture, the actor appears in Willy Wonka’s classic attire, which is a brown top hat and purple velvet coat.

However, the first look received mixed response from social media users. While some wrote that they are excited about the movie, other said they don’t need any more Wonka movies.

“Can’t wait for that Willy Wonka prequel movie,” one person wrote.

“It’s okay to admit that there should have only been one Willy Wonka movie it is okay to only have one good thing of a thing,” wrote another user.

Chalamet is the third actor play Willy Wonka on the big screen, after Gene Wilder (1971) and Johnny Depp (2005).

“What makes Willy — when we find him at the chocolate factory doing the golden ticket, where is he before that? What leads him to that place where he’s locked himself away? … It’s, ‘How does he get there?’ So we’re playing around with that,” producer David Heyman had said in 2018.

In an interview with PEOPLE earlier this year, the original cast of 1971’s Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory had said that they are looking forward to seeing Chalamet take on the iconic role.

“You can’t kill the Willy Wonka story. So all of it is good. It’s a great story. And people enjoy whatever different version they’re watching; it’s fun to watch,” said Peter Ostrum, who originally played Charlie Bucket.
