Sharon Kaur Sara, a fourth-grader from Frisco, Texas, won the ‘Doodle for Google 2020’ for a doodle titled ‘Together as one.’ Doodle4Google is an annual competition, held by Google, to have children create a Google doodle that will be featured on the local Google homepage as a doodle. The theme for this year was “I show kindness by…”
“I show kindness by sticking together with my friends in tough times. I drew people coming together and not thinking about the outside but being together because of their personality,” wrote Sharon, presenting her doodle titled, ‘Together as one.’ It features a group of six friends holding hands.

“People have not wanted to be my friend because of how I look, so I decided to draw what I do!” she told Google explaining her inspiration behind the Doodle. “No matter what people look like, you look on the inside and then decide if you want to be their friend.”
As the winner of the contest, Sharon has won a $30,000 college scholarship and a $50,000 technology package, as well as Google hardware and “fun Googley swag.” The other four finalists will each receive a $3,000 scholarship along with the Google hardware and swag.
