Asha Parekh will receive the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2020, according to the news agency ANI’s tweet. The tweet read "Dada Saheb Phalke Award to be conferred to actor Asha Parekh this year: Union Minister Anurag Thakur". Parekh has been a part of around 95 films and was the first female chairperson of the CBFC from 1998 to 2001. She was the highest paid and one of the most successful actors of her time She received the Padma Shri Award in 1992 and the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2002.
