The release announcement of South star Tovino Thomas’ upcoming Malayalam-language film ‘Minnal Murali’ has triggered a wave of excitement among fans. Ever since Netflix confirmed the release date and other details about the film’s release, social media users are talking about the highly-anticipated project. Minnal Murali will start streaming on Netflix on December 24.

Minnal Murali, starring south superstar Tovino Thomas will see a global release on streaming platform Netflix on December 24.

The trailer of the highly anticipated movie is expected to be released by the makers on Friday, September 24.

The superhero action film is directed by Basil Joseph of “Kettyolannu Ente Malakha” fame. The release announcement was made by Netflix on its Twitter handle.

“24th December It’s a Christmas date. You and us, watching Minnal Murali together. Warning sign Caution: Some sparks may fly. #MinnalOnNetflix,” the tweet read.

Superstar Thomas has also taken to his Twitter to announce the D Day and he also gave some caution warnings. Here’s what he wrote.

“Ee Christmas Minnum! ‘Minnal Murali’ is all set for a worldwide release this Christmas Eve!
24th December 2021 on @NetflixIndia. Mark your calendars for an unforgettable trip to Kurkanmoola! #StrikingOnDec24. Caution: Some sparks may fly,” the tweet read.

The film, which was initially slated for a theatrical release in 2020, was postponed multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Minnal Murali, the film is set in the early 90s and explores the origin story of Jaison, an ordinary man-turned-superhero (Thomas), who is struck by a bolt of lightning that bestows him with special powers.

Produced by Weekend Blockbusters (Sophia Paul), the film also features Guru Somasundaram, Harisree Ashokan and Aju Varghese in pivotal roles.

The film will premiere now premier on Netflix in Malayalam with dubs in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and English.
