American transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney has been honored as Woman of the Year by the British publication, Attitude Magazine, with the support of Virgin Atlantic. Mulvaney expressed her gratitude for this recognition, stating, “Knowing that my community sees me this way and acknowledges my womanhood is all I need to keep going.” The award reflects a significant acknowledgment of her identity within the transgender community and her impact as an influencer.
Attitude Magazine has encouraged readers to acquire their Attitude Awards issue to learn more about this honor and other accolades. However, not everyone has responded positively to Mulvaney’s recognition. TalkTV host Piers Morgan criticized Attitude for its decision, expressing the view that it undermines the significance of being a woman.
Mulvaney had already received recognition earlier in the year when she was crowned Breakout Creator at the Streamy Awards in August. Her reaction to this achievement was a mix of shock and delight, as she humorously shared, “I’m really shocked because the only award I would ever maybe win was maybe a Tony Award, but now I’m a musical theatre gal with a Streamy.” She highlighted the influence of Theatre TikTok, emphasizing its journey to mainstream recognition.
