Release date

HBO has stated that the show will be premiering in 2023, however no official date has been revealed.

Filming only began in November of 2022, which may mean that the show will debut later this year.

The latest season will include Kali Reis and Foster. The presence of both female detectives on the show will be a first. The show will also feature appearances by Joel D. Montgrand, Isabella Star Lablanc, Anna Lambe, Fiona Shaw, Finn Bennett, Aka Niviâna, Christopher Eccleston, and John Hawkes. Enis, Alaska, which is extremely far north and has polar nights and total darkness, will be the location of the show.

Although HBO did post a teaser for all of its 2023 programming, which provides viewers a decent peek at True Detective, the actual True Detective season 4 trailer has not yet been released.

The two detectives will strive to solve the case of a widespread disappearance in Alaska in the fourth season of True Detective. Kali Reis as Evangeline Navarro and Jodie Foster as Liz Danvers are the investigators in this case.
