The American entertainment industry has been on the edge for any updates since last week after renowned rapper DMX was rushed to the hospital on Sunday, reportedly, due to an episode of drug overdose, which turned into a severe heart attack.

Prominent figures like Brittani Warrick, Prince Pierre, Micheal Eric Dyson joined hands to bid adieu to the 50-year-old artist.

While some decided to honour the memory of DMX by sharing short snippets of their time together others planned special musical nights themed around the music he produced throughout his career. London’s Ministry of Sound, a hub for all music lovers, shared a short video from a 1999 performance and wrote, “Every day of life is a new chapter and it’s already been foretold so it’s up to the soul to capture”, while remembering the rap icon.

Brittani Warrick, who is known for her role in projects like ’28 Days’, wrote a heartfelt message for DMX and said that she had never heard a bad story about the rapper in her life while calling his demise “heartbreaking news”.

The list of those giving their respects boiled over the entertainment industry as world-renowned academicians like Micheal Eric Dyson, who is also an author, professor and political commentator, took to Twitter and wrote an offbeat message to remember DMX. He wrote, “The late great #DMX fused raw Black pain, personal suffering, the struggle with his many demons and an incurable quest for Christian salvation and redemption in music and lyrics — and prayers — that toured hell to provide a plan of escape. May his soul Rest In Peace. #RIPDMX

DMX, who was rushed to New York’s White Plains Hospital, showed “some brain activity” and was later put on life support while he struggled with his near-fatal condition.

Various personalities from the American music fraternity poured in their support and wishes for the artist on Twitter and Instagram. Artists like Ja Rule, Missy Elliot, Ebro have tweeted wishing DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, a quick recovery.
