Days before The Grammy Awards, English singer and songwriter Zayn Malik criticised the annual music awards. The singer has not been nominated for the upcoming 63rd GRAMMY Awards and took to his Twitter and wrote, “F*** the grammys and everyone associated. Unless you shake hands and send gifts, there’s no nomination considerations. Next year I’ll send you a basket of confectionary.” Soon after, his tweet went viral and was retweeted by 102.8K people.

He hasn’t been nominated for the award earlier and going by his recent remarks, had some things to get off his chest.

Though The Grammys released the nomination list 4 months ago, the artist broke his silence about the nominations days before it’s about to air.

Zayn’s third album ‘Nobody Is Listening’ missed the eligibility period for being considered for a Grammy nomination when it was released in January 2021. His first single, ‘Better’ also dropped a month past the deadline.

He later tweeted, “My tweet was not personal or about eligibility but was about the need for inclusion and the lack of transparency of the nomination process and the space that creates and allows favoritism, racism, and networking politics to influence the voting process.”

The 63rd annual Grammy Awards will be aired on Sunday at 8 pm ET (6.30 am Monday) on CBS, Paramount+, and Grammy.com.
