Pandit Jasraj died due to a cardiac arrest at his New Jersey residence

Celebrities, including Vishal Dadlani, Sona Mahapatra and Yami Gautam paid tributes to him
Indian classical music icon Pandit Jasraj died on Monday aged 90 following a cardiac arrest at his home, his daughter Durga Jasraj said in a statement. The vocalist was staying at New Jersey when he died.
The legendary singer, who had created several masterpieces in the front of Indian classical music, was mourned by celebrities.
Singer and music director Vishal Dadlani tweeted, "Just heard of the passing of the Legendary PanditJasraj Ji. My condolence to music itself, and to every musician on the planet. A truly monumental loss."
Singer Sona Mohapatra in a tweet said that Pandit Jasraj will keep inspiring people forever with his work. "I heard Pandit Jasraj in concert for the first time one early morning at the St Xavier Jan Fest over two decades ago. I felt the heavens descend on us. Haven’t forgotten the sparkle of that morning. Indescribable. Pandit jee will remain with India inspiring us forever."
Singer Harshdeep Kaur in a tweet said, "Huge loss to the world of music...Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj ji has left us..His music will always be with us."
Actor Yami Gautam also expressed her condolences in a tweet.
Actor Manoj Bajpayee tweeted, "There is no end to sad news. The legendary pt Jasraj ji and our dear friend Nishikant Kamat passed away today and left us all admirers shocked and in grief. Rest in peace!!"
Pandit Jasraj, whose career spanned over 80 years, belonged to the Mewati Gharana of Indian Classical Music. He had been honoured with awards like Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan over the years.
