Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut added another feat to her long list of accomplishments by winning a National Film Award for Best Actress for her films ‘Manikarnika’ and ‘Panga’. On Sunday, the actor said she was an “unwanted girl child”, but now works with “best and passionate filmmakers, artists and technicians.”

The ‘Queen’ actor was responding to filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri, who hailed her “relentless energy, working non-stop, doing amazing films after films, during the toughest Covid period.”

“I was an unwanted girl child,” Ranaut tweeted.

“Today I work with best and passionate filmmakers, artists and technicians,” she said.

“I love my work, not for money, not for fame. When best of the world look at me and say ‘only you can do it’ I know I may have been unwanted but I was needed. Much needed,” the actor added.

Ranaut, who made her Bollywood debut in 2006 with Anurag Basu’s ‘Gangster, has won four National Awards. Previously she won the award for Fashion (2008), Queen (2014) and Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015).
