Before the infamous shooting incident in July of 2022, Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez were reported to be dating. However, following a fight in a car after a party held at Kylie Jenner’s home, Lanez reportedly shot the ‘Savage’ rapper in the foot.
Following a felony assault trial, Tory Lanez has now been given a 10-year prison term. Seven months after Lanez was convicted on three charges at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Centre, Judge David Herriford of the Los Angeles County Superior Court delivered the verdict on Tuesday.

The couple first triggered dating rumors in 2020, amid the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. She joined an Instagram Live show which was hosted by Tory Lanez. Lanez began his “Quarantine Radio” Instagram Live broadcasts in April 2020. The show featured numerous celebrities, including Bryson Tiller, Chris Brown, and Drake. Unlike other celebs who appeared on group calls with Lanez, Stallion was spotted in the same room as the male rapper. The two were allegedly at Megan’s house at the time.
Later, Megan later denied that the two were a couple and claimed that they were only friends. However, soon all appearances of even a friendship between Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez ended in gunfire.
After the shooting, Lanez was arrested on suspicion of concealing a weapon and released on bail. Later, the police acknowledged that a victim had been taken to a hospital for treatment of a foot injury.
Megan subsequently identified Lanez as the shooter on Instagram Live, confirming the widespread rumors that were circulating at the time. Additionally, she posted graphic pictures of her injured foot.

The rapper was given a sentence that is 3 years fewer than the 13 years that prosecutors had originally suggested Lanez get back in June. Although Lanez is constitutionally believed to be ineligible for probation, his counsel urged that the 31-year-old be sentenced to probation or three years in prison, arguing that his case is so rare that it should deserve an exception.
