The official trailer for Hulu’s ‘Mike,’ a show from Steven Rogers (I, Tonya) and 20th Television that follows the life of contentious heavyweight champion boxer Mike Tyson, has been released. It will premiere on August 25.

The eight-episode limited series is described by the streamer as “an unauthorised and no-holds-barred look at the life of Mike Tyson.” It delves into Tyson’s turbulent boxing career and personal life, from being an adored global athlete to an outcast and back again.

The series tackles class in America, racism in the country, fame and the influence of media, misogyny, the wealth disparity, the illusion of the American Dream, and, finally, the public’s part in crafting Mike’s tale through the prism of Mike Tyson.

Tyson is played by Trevante Rhodes. Russell Hornsby, Harvey Keitel, Laura Harrier, and Li Eubanks round out the cast.

Karin Gist, together with Claire Brown, will serve as creator and executive producer under her The Gist of It company. Craig Gillespie’s ‘I, Tonya’ team, Clubhouse Pictures’ Bryan Unkeless and Scott Morgan, and LuckyChap’s Tom Ackerley and Margot Robbie, together with Entertainment 360’s Darin Friedman, will also executive produce. Anthony Hemingway, Anthony Sparks, and Samantha Corbin-Miller also executive produce, with Rhodes also acting and executive producing. The twentieth television will be produced.

“Biographical pictures are a fan favorite and a staple of the movie and television business and frequently the subjects are not involved,” President of ABC Entertainment and Hulu Originals, Craig Erwich, revealed to Deadline last year. “We have a strategy of taking a modern lens and applying it to stories and figures of popular culture of the past. We’ve had a lot of success doing that and I think it reveals interesting things, not just about where we’ve been but where we are so we’re looking forward to continuing the creative conversations behind Iron Mike.”
