Tim Burton’s Wednesday will arrive on Netflix on November 23 and the filming of Wednesday took place in Bucharest, Romania, starting in the second week of September 2021 and wrapping up on March 30, 2022. The entire crew spent more than six months filming the entire series in Bucharest.

Wednesday is an American coming-of-age supernatural horror comedy television series that follows the story of Wednesday Addams, a member of the Addams Family. The series has been created by Alfred Gough, Miles Millar, and Tim Burton and it stars Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, and Gwendoline Christie.

The first season of the series will consist of eight episodes and Wednesday will premiere at roughly 8 AM on Netflix (GMT). 

Filming  Location

This show is a parody of the popular Addams Family franchise, but it mostly concentrates on the narrative of Wednesday Addams, who is revealed to be the teenage daughter of Gomez and Morticia.

The main conflict of Wednesday Addams is her academic struggles because of having to transfer eight times over five years. 

Bucharest was selected as the location for the filming, particularly given that Nevermore Academy is a sort of old castle-like setting that should be challenging to locate anywhere else in the world other than a country like Romania.

Nevermore Academy serves as the series’ main location because the storyline focuses on the protagonist Wednesday. Additionally, some parts of the series have also been shot in the home of Gomez and Morticia.

 Nevermore Academy is situated deep within New England’s woodlands and has an unusually old-worldly European castle-like architecture for the United States. Bucharest is home to many diverse castle-like buildings that have endured the test of time, much like many other historic European towns. The Nevermore Academy along with one of the castles in Bucharest served as the main shooting location for Wednesday.

Filming Schedule 

Wednesday’s filming commenced on September 13, 2021, and after six months of filming the shoot was finally wrapped on March 30, 2022.
