American sports
reporter Erin Andrews recently became the talk of town after sharing an embrace
with quarterback Aaron Rodgers a while ago. Responding to the
reactions, Erin thought the buzz was unnecessary.

Erin
took to her podcast with Charissa Thomspon ‘Calm Down with Erin and Charissa’
to share her reaction to the hug going viral. She shared how she has hugged Rodgers
ever since she began covering the NFL. Erin added that Rodgers is a good friend
of hers and she felt the hug wasn’t a big deal.

Erin
further stated that she liked how sports analyst Pat McAfee joked about the
hug, stating that “you two gotta stop hugging.”

The sports reporter also shared how she has hugged many key players, and the hugs have
never been taken out of context.

Erin concluded her response stating that the
buzz could be because of a “chick thing”, since two men sharing a hug never suggests
anything controversial. She also shared instances of hugging Von Miller and
Odell Beckham Jr.

Erin also addressed the bigger issue at hand.
The reporter had received criticism for doing a socially distant interview on-screen
before being seen reaching out to Rodgers for a hug. Responding to the incident,
Erin added, “It is what it is. I understand that. I’ll do whatever
the NFL needs me to do.”

The
controversy spiralled after the reporter walked over to Rodgers, who hasn’t gotten
inoculated.

She feels that the hug was blown out of
context, and the bond between her and Rodgers remains strictly platonic.

Responding to the controversy, Rodgers added “look, I’ve known Erin for a long time and I think the whole
thing is obviously a little bit strange.  And that’s my friend. That’s the same way I’d hug a friend seeing
them on the field, or hug a guy on the opposing team.”

The television personality’s annual salary is around $2 million per year and she has a net worth of $30 million in 2021.
