Following the veteran host’s departure from Wheel of Fortune next year, Ryan Seacrest, 48, was revealed as Pat Sajak’s replacement on Tuesday.

It is unclear, meanwhile, whether Sajak’s longstanding letter-turner Vanna White, 66, will be appearing with Seacrest on the redesigned show.

White, who has been a cast member of Wheel since 1982, is claimed to have engaged counsel in the aftermath of Sajak’s retirement announcement and amid rumors that she hasn’t received a pay hike in 18 years.

White has reportedly been making about $3 million annually since 2005 and did not get any pay increases during that time; only incentives.

Sajak, 76, reportedly receives a much higher salary for his work. He reportedly made $15 million a year from the show, according to a 2016 Forbes article.

According to reports, White has retained the powerful lawyer Bryan Freedman, who has defended a number of Hollywood giants in legal conflicts with the TV networks where they are employed.

Previously, Freedman portrayed the troubled and transient Jeopardy! presenter Mike Richards.

Additionally, it has been stated that Freedman has been kept on by Don Lemon after his contentious firing from CNN.

Sony Pictures Television produces Wheel of Fortune, and Freedman is purportedly planning to “hit the pay discrepancy issue hard” with the corporation, as well as any potential gender discrimination with regard to White’s income.

At the conclusion of the 2023–2024 season, White’s contract is apparently up, and she is reportedly aiming to land a sizable salary should she stay on the program.

According to a statement released by Sony on Tuesday, he will also work as a consultant producer on the program.

An unnamed insider said to the Daily Mail last week that White is afraid she’ll be “forced out” of her post once Sajak retires, which led to the revelation of Seacrest as the new host.

Sajak and White have been the faces of Wheel for more than 40 years; Sajak first appeared on the program in 1981, and White followed a year later.

Regarding Seacrest’s casting, White has not yet made any remarks. In a formal statement released on Tuesday, Seacrest hinted that White would be working alongside him, saying, “I can’t wait to continue the tradition of spinning the wheel and working alongside the great Vanna White.”
