Kanye West has filed trademark for a new product on May 4, according to a report by TMZ. The report says citing court documents that West’s firm Mascotte Holdings Inc. has sought to trademark YZY SOCK SHOES which has been identified as “Socks; socks with leather soles.” There is no further clarity on the product as yet.

Among the controversial statements deemed to be antisemitic that West made include writing on Twitter that he was “going death con 3 on Jewish people”. He also accused record producer Sean “Diddy” Combs of being controlled by “the Jewish people” in a post on Instagram. Despite facing widespread backlash, Kanye West has still not fully apologized for the antisemitic comments he’s made.

West’s plans to bring his rumored “sock shoe-type design” to market may be complicated by the lack of a clear retail partner. While West could potentially sell the product through his Yeezy brand, it is uncertain what infrastructure remains in place at the company. The uncertainty surrounding Yeezy’s operations has been a source of speculation for some time.
