Prince Archie, the son of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, shares his birthday with an important event in the British monarchy – the coronation of King Charles III.
While the coronation takes place on May 6, 2023, Archie will turn four years old on the same day, leading to speculation about whether Harry and Meghan will attend the ceremony in Westminster Abbey.

The Duke of Sussex will attend King Charles III’s coronation service at Westminster Abbey on May 6, according to a statement from Buckingham Palace. However, his wife, Meghan Markle, and their children, Archie and Lilibet, will remain in California. The decision has led to speculation about tensions between the couple and the Royal Family, as they have had a contentious relationship in the past.

The coincidence of Archie’s birthday falling on the same day as the coronation has not gone unnoticed, with many wondering if it will have any impact on Harry and Meghan’s decision to attend. The couple relocated to California in early 2020 and have since become financially independent from the Royal Family.

Prince Harry has recently been vocal about his relationship with his family, releasing a Netflix documentary and a memoir on the subject. However, in an interview earlier this year, he expressed hope for reconciliation, saying that it would have a positive effect on the world.

Meanwhile, preparations for King Charles III’s coronation are underway. The service is a religious ceremony during which the monarch formally receives their crown and takes oaths to god. It does not mark the start of the reign in Britain, as the monarchical system does not allow for the throne to fall vacant. Charles became king immediately after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September 2022.

While coronations can take place at any point after the accession of a new monarch, they have traditionally occurred within two years of the reign beginning. King Charles III will be the 40th reigning monarch to be crowned in a ceremony at Westminster Abbey in London.
