Their motivation for adoption was a strong desire to address a pressing need, particularly for mixed-race children. They made dedicated efforts to honor their son’s heritage, embracing his Bosnian roots. Jackman recognized the challenges his son faced growing up with a famous father and aimed to provide a sense of normalcy.

As their children grew, Jackman and Furness adapted their parenting style, transitioning from setting rules to explaining the reasons behind them. They placed their kids’ well-being at the forefront of their lives, emphasizing the importance of conversations and perspectives.

In 2005, the couple welcomed their daughter, Ava Eliot Jackman, on July 10. Jackman expressed his joy at having a girl and his protective instincts towards her. He hoped for a life free of adversity for his daughter.

Despite Jackman’s prominence in the entertainment industry, the family maintained a no-screens-during-the-week rule to prioritize quality time together. Additionally, they made a concerted effort to introduce their children to their cultural backgrounds, recognizing the importance of embracing their diverse heritages.
