Tabu shared a poster of Drishyam 2 on her Instagram and captioned the post, “Dushman ko harane ka mauka aksar Dushman aapko khud deta hai. Drishyam 2. Case reopens 18th November 2022.”

The poster featured Akshaye Khanna looking intensely at a chessboard in the foreground. Ahead of the release of the film Ajay Devgan also shared the new poster of Drishyam 2 in his Instagram stories.

Akshaye Khanna will star in the upcoming sequel but he was not initially a part of the film Drishyam in 2015. 

Who is Akshaye Khanna? 

Akshaye Khanna was born on March 28, 1975, in Bombay (now Mumbai), Maharashtra. He is the son of Indian actor and politician Vinod Khanna. Akshaye Khanna attended Bombay International School, and later shifted to Lawrence School, Lovedale, Ooty.

After completing his schooling, he studied acting at the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute in Mumbai and made his debut in 1997. 

Akshay Khanna’s Acting Career

He made his Bollywood debut with Pankaj Parashar’s romantic drama Himalay Putra. He received considerable recognition soon after his first role and it also earned him a Screen Award for Best Male Debut. Later that year, Khanna co-starred with Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, and Jackie Shroff in J. P. Dutta’s military drama Border. The film became the second highest-grossing film in Bollywood and he also won the Best Male debut award for this film. 

After his massive recognition, he starred in many films like Mohabbat, Doli Saja Ke Rakhna, Aa Ab Laut Chalen, Kudrat, and many others. 

Akshaye Khanna returned to acting in 2001 with Farhan Akhtar’s film, Dil Chahta Hai, after a two-year break. He faced a decline in his career in 2007. Most of his films didn’t do well at the box office and he took a break for many years.

Akshaye Khanna again made a comeback to Bollywood in 2016 with the action comedy film Dishoom and he played the role of the main antagonist Wagah. In 2017, he featured in the film Mom along with Sridevi and he received huge appreciation for his performance as Matthew, a CBI officer. 

He made his OTT debut in 2021 with the film State of Siege: Temple Attack. 

He has received many awards throughout his career which include the IIFA Awards, Zee Cine Awards, and Star Screen Awards. 

Now he will be seen starring in Drishyam 2 along with Ajay Devgan, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav and Rajat Kapoor.
