Who is Andor?

Diego Luna will reprise his role as Andor in a live actor thriller series, Andor. According to Luna, his character will appear younger in the series, which is set five years before Rogue One. The first 12 episodes of Andor are scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on September 21, 2022, with its first three episodes. The rest of the episodes will be released weekly until November 23.

Cassian Jeron Andor was born on the planet Fest in 26 BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin). The date system for the Star Wars timeline uses the Battle of Yavin as a base point. Events that occur after the Battle of Yavin are denoted as ABY, and events that occur before are denoted as BBY. He was a human soldier, pilot, and intelligence officer who served in the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars and later with the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War. In 2015, it was announced that Diego Luna had been cast in a lead role in Rogue One. Director Gareth Edwards wanted Cassian to be warm and likeable rather than the typical stoic, brooding action hero. Luna spoke in the role with his native Mexican accent, an exception for the film franchise, which has mostly featured American and British accents.
